About the Application Process


Dear New Tenants,

Congratulations! You have chosen to rent through Welcome Home Leasing. We will be as much help to you as we can during this stressful time of transition to your new home. Here are some reminders to help make things smoother:




1. Fill out the application form COMPLETELY including your signature on the back. And please do not forget phone numbers - we actually call your references.

2. Make out application Fee of $_________ to Welcome Home Leasing.

3. Make out security deposit of $--_________ to _____________________________.

4. Turn these items in as soon as possible! Property CANNOT be taken off the market until a deposit check has been turned in.

5. Students supported by their parents will need to have a parent sign and return the "Parental Guarantee" form. Please ask for a form when you pick up you application.

6. Your approval should not take more than 2 or 3 days. Please call if you have not heard any news by then.

7. Once you are approved, you need to make an appointment as soon as possible to sing your lease.

REMEMBER: YOUR DEPOSIT CHECK IS YOUR COMMITMENT! Do not write a deposit check unless you are sure that you want to rent the property. Once the property is taken off the market, for any length of time, the owner is not legally required to return the deposit to you if you change your mind about moving in.

It is a good idea to call your landlord a few days prior to your scheduled move-in to touch base. Also, check with the old tenants and arrange to have the utilities TRANSFERRED into your name, rather than letting them get cut off completely. It will save you the turn-on fee and prevent any interruption in service.

Unless your bills are paid by the owner, you will be responsible for turning them on. When you go to the utility companies, be sure to bring your photo ID and a copy of your lease as well as a check for the deposit. Don't wait too long to do this, as they can take several days during the busy season.
